What Types of Samples Can I Submit for a Forensic DNA Test?

< 1 min read

Forensic samples are any samples that are not standard mouth swabs. These samples can be used for our DNA tests, such as DNA paternity, relationship, and forensic identification tests. Examples include:

  • Hair with roots attached
  • Toothbrushes
  • Cigarette butts
  • Fingernails and toenail clippings
  • Blood stains
  • Ear swabs
  • Chewing gum
  • Drinking straws.

Please note: Due to the variability of forensic sample types, we cannot guarantee viable DNA will be extracted from the sample. We will try our best to obtain a viable DNA sample, however, a non-refundable $100 viability test fee will be applied regardless of whether the sample provides a sufficient DNA profile or not.
